Valentinos has been serving Lincoln some of the best pizza and pasta since 1957 when original owners Val and Zena Weiler converted the Campus Fruit Market into a successful Pizzeria.  The Weiler's in turn sold the business in 1971 to the Messineo and Alesio families whom developed a winning plan of expansion.  (See the link below for details.)  

Along with the population growth of Lincoln and the popularity of Valentinos Italian cuisine, the restaurant has expanded to numerous locations not only locally, but in 6 states as well. And both the Weiler's original recipe and the current recipe sauce can be purchased at grocers.

Valentinos original location across from the East UNL campus is just under two miles from where I grew up.  Easy walking distance for a bunch of hungry kids to go for pizza and we walked or biked to Val's nearly every weekend. 

The grand Italian buffets are just that... Grand!  And at $9.99 for all you can eat, it's a bargain.  One of these days I should count how many sumptuous dishes are available on their buffet.  I suspect that you'd need at least a couple of very large plates to just have a bite or two of everything they offer.  

The soup and salad bars alone would fill me up, but then I can never resist a piece of roasted red pepper and sausage pizza, a little pasta... the entrées bar... bread bar... dessert bar.. And... Just plan on being way overstuffed when you leave!
