We
remember when DaVinci's opened their first restaurant (Pontillos)
near UNL campus in 1978. We occasionally ordered pizza,
but at least once a month we'd pick up hot hoagies and
considered them to be the best we'd ever eaten even to this
day.
If
you haven't tried their famous cheese steak hoagie, you don't
know what you're missing. They grill thinly sliced steak
with a buttery oil, season it to perfection, and serve it up on
an Italian loaf with sautéed onions and Swiss cheese. An 8-inch
for $4.59, 12-inch for $6.29. Additional toppings such as
mushrooms, extra cheese, black olives and peppers are also
available for a small additional cost.
If
you are hungry for pasta DaVinci's offers five of Kal's homemade
sauces heaped on top of mostaccioli or linguini noodles.
I'm partial to the chicken alfredo, but all of them are
delicious.
